As a restaurant manager, you are responsible for the day to day operations of the business. You will have 4-5 employees and are responsible for scheduling, managing, food ordering, inventory, cash control, bakery orders and customer satisfaction.

To replace the position, it would cost labor hours because I would have to pay other employees to cover that position until I could find someone else, I would have to include additional training hours while I trained the new employee for the position, as well as the uniform costs for the new employee. It would cost my time as well as other employees time to train the new employee. Replacing the position could also cost customer service. Customer service could be affected if there is not an employee capable of covering the position until someone else were hired for the position. To find someone else, there are various recruiting sites available throughout the internet for an organization to make a posting on. There are also flyers and business cards that can be posted around the town or handed out to people who may fit the job description.

Training Needs for Restaurant Manager Position:
As a restaurant manager, you will complete 6 weeks of training. We will begin with a tour of the bakery, as well as completing a servsafe class and test if you are not servsafe certified. We will break the training down starting with learning the different cakes and cupcakes we have as well as decorating basics. This will be 2 weeks of training, as you will learn the functions of being a baker and cake decorator. We will then begin into the management training, during management training, you will learn all of the management functions and work one on one with one of the owners. We will go over scheduling, inventory, food ordering for the bakery as well as cash control and deposits. The management training will take 4 weeks to complete. At the end of the 4 weeks, an evaluation will be completed of the Restaurant Manager in training and further actions will be taken from there if needed.
